ABOUT

GreenStPhotography started in 2004 as collaboration between me (Andrew Phillips) and fellow photographer and friend Leah Washington. GreenSt was a way we could share our photography with family and friends and drum up a few clients. In 2007 Leah went back to school to pursue her PhD in Sport Psychology and since then has understandably been overwhelmed by school work and therefore has not been focusing on her photography. Andrew has been photographing since 2004 and is primarily self-taught. He has taken various photography related classes at The Art League in Old Town Alexandria, VA as well as the Smithsonian's Resident Associate Program. He has also mentored under photographer Jim Steele since late 2004. Andrew is drawn to creating art from the everyday and has an endless fascination with photographing people. Andrew taught at The Art League from 2008 to 2010. Andrew also occasionally works behind the scenes on Light Leaks Magazine, a small independent magazine dedicated to toy camera photography, as Gallery Submission Coordinator.
